Accomplishments Working with the rest of the Council: - Finalizing
our new General Plan. I have worked on the General Plan update since its inception.
- Completion and opening of the
Callippe Preserve Golf Course and open space park, Veterans Hall rehabilitation, and Kottinger Creek Restoration. Acquisition
of the Downtown Transportation Corridor.
- Voter-approved Specific Plan for the Bernal Property Park and construction
financing plan.
- Under construction on the Alviso Adobe restoration, Bernal Phase I Sports Fields, and the new Firehouse
Arts Center.
- Adoption of the Economic Strategic Plan for the City of Pleasanton.
- Addressing the long-term
fiscal liabilities associated with city employee benefits.
Under my leadership: - Enacted city
election Campaign Finance Reform for the first time in Pleasanton.
- Expanding and enhancing the city non-profit grants
program.
- Together with the Mayor, led the adoption of energy, environmental, green building, recycling and climate
change programs and the establishment of a city Sustainability Commission.
- Worked to forge compromise over many controversial
issues, such as the Staples Ranch Park Plan, the St. Clare's Church expansion, and a compromise plan for the Stoneridge
Drive Extension.
- Led the removal of the West Las Positas Interchange from the General Plan.
- Identified the
damaging impacts to our local economy from the second Home Depot proposal which helped lead to its ultimate denial.
- Called
for Sustainable Economic and Fiscal Policies to guide our city through build-out.
- Have built good relationships with
regional leaders and have successfully represented Pleasanton's interests on regional boards and committees.
- Working
with the community to address impacts from the Livermore Airport expansion.
